Gold Chain
A gold chain may seem like a simple piece of jewelry but
there are really a lot of options from which to choose. First, choose
your metal – 14K yellow gold, 14K white gold, 14K rose gold, 18K
yellow gold, 18K white gold, or even sterling silver. Cost-wise, 18K
contains more gold so will cost more than 14K. Sterling silver is the
least expensive of these options.
A gold chain can also come in one of any 17 styles of chain. Curb, bead,
box, square snake, braided bead, Figaro, Mariner, Franco, rolo (cable),
diamond cut rope, Singapore, white Figaro rope, spiga (wheat), Byzantine,
anchor cable, D/C bead and bar are the options you will face when picking
a chain. Obviously not every retailer will have this wide of a selection,
but it is more common for online retailers to carry a wider range of
options.
Online retailers also offer detailed photos of each style of gold chain.
Measurements are also included for length and girth. Chains are available
in several lengths, from 16” to 30”, in 2” increments.
