Gold Necklace
A gold necklace can look like expensive metal but not
cost as much as the real thing. It can be pure (24K) gold, plated with
gold, gold-filled, gold overlay or rolled gold plate. Gold plating wears
away, but how long it takes depends on how often it’s worn.
A gold necklace can also be gold filled, which means the piece contains
a layer of at least 10K gold. Gold overlay and rolled gold plate are
also defined as having this amount of gold. While it is considered to
be inferior gold product, it’s still gold and plenty of people
wear it and give it as gifts.
A 24K (pure) gold necklace will definitely cost more money than a gold
plated necklace.
